Obituary for Virginia Brolly

Virginia "Ginny" T Brolly (née Van Riper) joined her loving husband Cornelius, beloved son James, and dear sister Kay Malenchek in eternal rest on November 12, 2017.

Virginia, a native of Brooklyn, lived for many years in Islip Terrace, and then Niskayuna, New York, before spending her final days in Sebastian, Florida. She is survived by her three adoring children Margaret "Peggy" (Ron) Leonard, John "Jack" (Jennifer) Brolly, and AnnaMarie Suarez. She was very proud of her five grandchildren and their spouses Denise (David) Murphy McGraw, Harold "Billy" (Hanne) Murphy, Jessica (John) Jepko, Philip (PJ) Brolly, and her cherished Peter Suarez, as well as the true lights of her life, her great-grandchildren Caroline Brolly McGraw, Kyle & Cynthia Jepko, and Piper & Beckham Murphy.

Mrs Brolly, a red-headed beauty who stood out in any crowd, loved to regale her family and friends with tales of hobnobbing with celebrities of all forms during her days in the restaurant business in Brooklyn. She and her husband went on to own numerous restaurants throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island. In her later years, she had very satisfying careers with the Nutrisystem Company and CVS Pharmacies.

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 16, from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM, at Lindenhurst Funeral Home, 424 South Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 17, at 10:00, at Our Lady of Grace RC Church, 666 Alvin Avenue, Babylon. Internment will be at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, Long Island.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Kateri Tekakwitha RC Church 2216 Rosa Road, Schenectady, New York 12309 or the Case Management Foundation http://www.supportcmf.org/
